DLR for Grownups

°o°   Disneyland Resort without the kids? Of course!

Welcome to DLR for Grownups. Includes when to go; saving moneywhat to bring; where (and what) to eat; where to stay & fun things to do while visiting Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure and Downtown Disney...without the kids.

saving money: a special "blockout" ticket for August 4 through 20, 2017.

We've all had those bummer in the summer days: your friends want to go to Disneyland between now and August 20, but your pass is blocked out and you can't go. The only way you can go with them is to upgrade your pass, which could cost as much as $300. I'm not a math whiz, but I know one Disneyland day is not worth $300.

But wait! Disney has come to your rescue with a special blockout ticket that is good until August 20, 2017. If your AP is blocked out, you can buy this one-day hopper ticket and go to the parks with your friends (until August 20 only). And Annual Passholders also get extra discounts on merchandise and food (including special Main Street Electrical Parade-themed snacks). Read more...

If you haven’t been to Disneyland Resort (DLR) since it expanded from Disneyland to Disneyland Resort (in 2001), you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much better the food has become. Disneyland (DL) and Disney’s California Adventure (DCA) both have a much wider variety of food choices and better tasting food than in the past, especially as compared to “typical” amusement park food. I'm not sure about you, but my metabolism seems to get slower every year.  Meaning: I can't eat all those yummy goodies at Disneyland and California Adventure.
